Description

The minimum age is 18 years, due to the nature of the manufacturing operation – risk based operation of machinery and equipment.


Work safely in the production facility to assist with the manufacture of bespoke cosmetics products
Have a sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Adhere to the Quality Management System and procedures
Use improvement techniques / lean activities where applicable
Procedures
Carry out daily tasks to authorised work instructions
Adhere to health, safety and environment guidance, report any issues via the appropriate system
Work to and meet the requirements of standard operating procedures. 



Duties

Prepare cosmetic raw materials and operate equipment used in the manufacturing process
Monitor the basic cosmetic manufacturing process
Clean up any spillages immediately
Complete check sheets where required
Maintain a production logbook
Complete process records and paperwork to a high standard
Report any issues regarding the production process, equipment problems and product issues to the Supervisor
Raw Materials
Transfer raw materials from stock ready for production
Follow stock inventory controls and maintain accuracy of stock
Equipment
Wear the appropriate PPE / work wear e.g. lab coat, hair net, disposable gloves
Prepare the raw materials, equipment and packaging ready for the manufacturing operation
Select the correct equipment to achieve the manufacture and packaging of cosmetic products
Check the equipment and materials for suitability and hygiene
Check that the equipment has no faults or defects
Set up and prepare equipment and machinery ready for production, including heating & mixing equipment, weighing
Start up/shut down basic cosmetic manufacturing equipment & machinery
Production operations
Load raw cosmetic materials and products into heating vessels/ boilers / containers
Prepare large volumes of cosmetics solutions and transfer full and empty containers to agreed schedule
Undertake hand based process - transferring products, filling moulds/ containers, packaging and labelling
Premises
Keep working area clean and tidy
Clean equipment, utensils and work surfaces after use
Sanitise according where specified
Only use cleaning products provided by the company, specific to the manufacturing process /specification / customer requirement
Remove residual and waste materials into suitable storage
Follow waste management procedures for disposal of waste
Return removable utensils and components to the correct storage location
Finished Products
Use hand based packaging techniques safely and effectively
Manually package and label finished products
Undertake final quality check
Transfer packaged products ready for despatch using trolley / pallet car

Essential criteria


English - Level 2 (GCSE equivalent grades)

Mathematics - Level 2 (GCSE equivalent grades)

PC literate - Microsoft Office

Awareness of Monday.com - workflow planning tool

Experience of good manufacturing practice

Experience working with stock control

Desirable criteria

Punctual with a good work ethic

High level of personal hygiene

High level of concentration and attention to detail

Prepared to work in a ‘sterile’  environment free from contamination

Works to high safety and quality standards
